The History of Wat Chedi Luang

Wat Chedi Luang was built in 1411 during the reign of King Saen Muang Ma, and it has been an important center of Buddhist learning and worship ever since. Visiting the Speaking Monks in Chiang Mai

The monks are located in the site of the temple. Visit the temple and ask the staff where to go in order to speak with the monks. There are no timetables, schedules or time constraints – we do recommend to go there before 17:00.

Alternatively, in many temples, the monks begin their daily rituals and praying at around 6:00 am, and visitors are welcome to observe or engage in respectful manner. It might be possible to have a conversation with the monks after their morning rituals have ended.
