School Coffee Chiang Mai

Visit School Coffee near Chiang Mai Railway Station for Northern Thai coffee, a welcoming cafe, barista training and connections to coffee-growing communities.

Updated 27 October 2026

School Coffee is a cafe near Chiang Mai Railway Station where a cup can lead to a conversation about the people who grew the beans. The team has close ties to coffee growers in Northern Thailand and shares that connection through its drinks, tastings, training and trips. You can also simply drop in for a coffee and enjoy the creative, relaxed space.

Northern Thai coffee, made your way

School Coffee’s growers and friends in the mountains are part of what makes this place interesting. The cafe has featured local beans prepared in different ways, including pour-over, siphon, cold brew and nitro coffee. If you enjoy trying different flavours, a tasting is a chance to hear about the beans, how they were processed and how the brewing method changes the cup. Non-coffee drinks are available too.

A cafe to spend time in

Inside the shophouse, plants, vintage pieces and artwork give the cafe its school-inspired character. It is a friendly place to meet someone, spend time drawing or settle in with a drink. You may also find small handmade items such as coffee mugs. Nearby, POHSOP serves food and circle.pound has baked treats.

Learn more, or go beyond the cafe

School Coffee also runs barista training and has organised coffee tastings and countryside trips with its grower network. On our coffee farm visit, we saw how coffee is grown and processed before tasting it closer to its source. The team’s 2025 journeys through Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai included farm visits, picking coffee cherries, roasting and brewing together, as well as time with local communities. Those past trips offer a glimpse of what School Coffee can bring together, rather than a fixed itinerary for future outings.

For current tastings, training or trip possibilities, message School Coffee directly on Facebook or Instagram. You can also visit the cafe for a drink and hear what the team has coming up.
