Best Coffeeshops with a garden
Explore these great coffeeshops with an outdoor area!
Sometimes you just don’t want to sit inside the air-conditioned room, but enjoy the fresh air and a breeze instead. In this post we’ll share some of our favorite coffeeshops that have a garden. These are usually located a little bit outside of the city, but can therefore also be great for a little trip around the city.

Please acknowledge that the author of this post does not really drink coffee, but usually drinks iced coco or matcha. So this post won’t recommend the tastiest coffee, but emphasizes on the environment and atmosphere.
If you have any recommendations for other coffeeshops that we might have missed out on. Please let send a message to our Instagram page so we can update our pages.
Cafe de Sot Chiang Mai
Truly amazing place, near Chiang Mai old town. This coffeeshop (and little restaurant) has a pretty big indoor and outdoor area, with water-misters to keep the temperature cool. There is even a pond and (fake) waterfall, in the garden. This place can be busy, but never too busy and it really is a hidden gem. Such an oasis! It’s also amazing to see they collaborate with the Deaf School next door, so deaf students and pupils can work and get experience from helping out in the coffeeshop.
Peace Place Pause Chiang Mai
Peace Place Pause (PPP) is a great coffeeshop and restaurant that combines a peaceful environment. As you sit outside, you can enjoy the Ping River, while having a drink, some food and even practice drawing – as canvasses and paint is being sold for those who feel artistic and creative. Many Thai come here with friends and sometimes bring their family (kids) too. I personally love visiting this place to work on this website. Google Maps location.
WhyD.cnx Chiang Mai
WhyD.cnx is another favorite place, as it has a nice outside area and it’s not a busy place it all. So it’s great to wind down, relax and enjoy. Sometimes I work or study here, but doing something is not obligatory. I believe they even have some small card or board games for those who’d like to play a game with friends. Google Maps location.
Light Beverage and MORE
Haven’t been to this place for a while (because I’m usually not around in this area I guess), but it’s another cute little coffeeshop next to the Ping River. It’s super chill and offers a nice space to sit, read, study or just relax. Google Maps location.
Inchala Chiang mai
Inchala I would describe as ‘hippy place inside the jungle in the city’. It’s a nice place, surrounded by the forest near Chiang Mai University. It has a hippy vibe and is very chill as you would expect. They have some really nice ‘masala tea’ and also some of their vegan/organic chocolate bars are tasty. They sometimes host parties as well, some interesting activities and there is a firepit for a campfire. Last but not least, our friend Kate, organizes pottery workshops at this place (Instagram). Google Maps location.
บ้านดอยคาเฟ่ (Baan Doi Cafe)
Amazing little coffeeshop. Very cheap, located outside of the city, and it feels like you’re in the garden of the owners. Which is probably true, considering the fact the coffeeshop and house are attached to each other. Very peaceful and calm place with a lot of nature and birdsounds. Google Maps location.
The Extraction พืชสวนโลก Chiang mai
Nice coffeeshop hidden in the forest, outside of Chiang Mai city. Very peaceful and nice location. Also great to visit in combination with a trip to a half-day or full-day Samoeng loop! Great to combine a visit to this coffeeshop, with stops at surrounding temples or popular destination “Baan Kang Wat” too! Google Maps location.
Blooming Hut Cafe
Blooming Hut Café has a little coffeeshop to sit and work inside, and has a garden where you can sit outside as well. Simple but nice. Google Maps location.
LUBE – Coffee and special drinks
A nice coffeeshops, between dormitories and behind Chiang Mai University. It’s a calm environment surrounded by nature. Perfect to sit outside and have a little drink. Google Maps location.
Early Owls Chiang Mai
Early Owls is a coffeeshop close to Chiang Mai old town. The coffeeshop has a lovely little building for sitting inside, but most people choose to stay outside and sit on the gras and around the pond. Perhaps you could even practice some yoga or simple stretching exercises while staying here. It is a popular place, so it can be a bit busy sometimes, but this will always depend on time, day and weather. Google Maps location.
