Uncle's khao soi at Sunday Walking Street

Find Uncle's khao soi, pad Thai and rice with pork leg at Chiang Mai's Sunday Walking Street, in front of Ratchadumnern Coffee and Food.

Updated 26 October 2026

Khao soi is one of Northern Thailand’s best-loved dishes: egg noodles in a rich curry broth, usually topped with crispy noodles and served with lime, shallots and pickled greens. One of our favourite bowls comes from a friendly vendor we call Uncle, who serves it at Chiang Mai’s Sunday Walking Street. He also makes very good pad Thai and rice with pork leg.

Find Uncle on Sunday

Uncle now sells at the Sunday Walking Street, not the Saturday market. His stand is easy to spot in front of Ratchadumnern Coffee and Food on the walking-street route. The map below marks the cafe so you can go straight to the right part of the market.

More than khao soi

If you are in the mood for something other than curry noodles, try Uncle’s pad Thai or rice with pork leg.
