Volunteer at Srisombat Farm
A practical introduction to Srisombat Farm, a family-run coffee shop, restaurant, and growing space about 10 km south of Chiang Mai.
Updated 20 October 2026
Srisombat Farm is a family-run place about 10 km south of Chiang Mai city. Champ, his girlfriend Mai, and Chef Nakhon run the farm together. They are building a growing space for fruit, vegetables, and greenery around the property, alongside a relaxed place where people can eat, drink, and spend time outside the city.
A farm that changes with the season
The farm is greenest during and after the rainy season. In the hotter months it can feel drier and more open, but the work does not stop. Growing, planting, watering, compost, maintenance, and food preparation all have their own rhythm. That is what makes time here more interesting than a staged farm visit.
What volunteering can involve
The best first step is to message Srisombat Farm on Facebook before making volunteer plans. The family can share dates, explain what help is useful at that time, and arrange a visit that works for everyone.
You can also simply visit for food or a drink first. Meeting the family, seeing the farm, and then bringing up volunteering is an easy way to discuss what might suit everyone. When there is a fit, help may be for a couple of days or once a week, with growing, planting, maintenance, food preparation, cleaning, or other work around the farm.
It may also be possible to camp on the farm grounds when arrangements suit the family and the season. The appeal is the setting: fresh air, simple outdoor time, local food, and a chance to see how a family project grows over time.
Food, drinks, and time outside
You do not need to volunteer to enjoy Srisombat Farm. It is mostly a coffee shop and restaurant where you can eat, drink, relax, lie down, and take in the mountain view. Come later in the day if you would like to stay for the sunset. It is an easy stop on a relaxed drive south of the city, especially if you prefer a quieter place than a packed attraction.
